My Rust Diary

(oh the horror)

Last up-date; June 8, 2009

Big news; I sat in my car!! This is the first time (in 8 months) that I've had a floor.

To start off;

I'm not a professional bodyman. This is a "diary" and not a "how-to". It's just how I decided to do it.

There will be some photos here that I "borrowed" from other sites. I didn't ask permission, so if they are your photos and you have a problem with it, please contact me. I will post where I got the photo from.

Links to other "rust removal" pages.

Jeff Hail's "bringing out the dead" This shows some extreme work done by a professional (retired??)

Michelko's "digging into hell" I get the impression that Michelko isn't a professional bodyman, but he does top quality work and doesn't cut corners!!

Links;

February 14, 2008 and February 20, 2008;    Showing how bad it is. (it's ugly, but not un-typical)

April 3, 2008;  Working on the engine compartment "longs".

May 12, 2008;  Still working on the engine compartment "longs" and rear suspension.

June 23, 2008;  Working on the inner surface of the "longs" and installing the cross-member / firewall

August 29, 2008;  More firewall / bulkhead work and installing the floor

September 1, 2008;  Fabricating suspension console "ties"

June 8, 2009;  Replacing the front floor pan, adding the seat mount brackets and adding the rear jacking plate brackets

That's it for now.
